We try to go as local as possible but when it comes to the right ingredients, specialized ones are imported. A lot of our competitors source packaging from international countries to maintain brand aesthetic. We realized the impact of shipping plastic from all over the world is one of the worst things that you can do. We wanted to reduce our footprint on this and thus the majority of Harkoi's product packaging is actually sourced within India. Please note - some parts and components are sourced internationally due to unavailability locally.

We also use a lot of smart sustainable strategies when it comes to product packaging because in eCommerce there are a lot of fillers used to make sure your product does not move around or break in transit. While it is an extremely important factor, it can lead to a lot of waste that we wanted to eliminate. We realized that while shipping our Nail Polish bottles since they are glass, they are usually individually wrapped in bubble wrap or eco-friendly paper before they are shipped out. Because we feel that these practices are wasteful, we have designed an outer box around each polish that fits in perfectly in our eCommerce shipping boxes. For example, if you order a pack of 5 nail polishes, there is a custom-made box that we use that fits in all 5 polishes which means we have to add no filler material to it and this kind of intelligent packaging has actually led us to use less or produce less waste when it comes to e-commerce.India
